My first cd “Paths Crossing” was compiled in 2007 and recorded at Prairie Sun Recordings in Cotati, California. The tunes selected for this cd were tunes I grew up listening to and enjoying. I was a Jimmy Webb fan and the 5th Dimension’s recording of his “Up, Up and Away” always put me in a good mood. “El Testament d’ Amelia” was a tune written for the classical guitar which I had played on the guitar, and I felt that its harmonies and harmonics worked well on the chromatic harp. A number of the tunes on this Cd are movie or show tunes from popular shows like “My Fair Lady”, “Black Orpheus”, “Porgy and Bess” and of course “James Bond”. Other tunes like “Harlem Nocturne”, “Unforgettable”, “Satin Doll” and “Witchcraft” are some of my favorite standards that were particularly fun to play on the cross-strung harp. The harp played on this recording was a “Lord David” model made by Dan Speer of Argent Fox Music.
My second cd, “Guitar Transitions” was recorded in 2014 by Blair Hardman at Zone Recording Studios in Cotati, California. I started playing the guitar at about age 12, after having played the accordion for four years previously. I played guitar in a number of bands and combos and eventually became a guitar major at Lone Mountain College in San Francisco. I worked my way through college working at clubs in San Francisco, down the peninsula and in the East Bay as well as giving group guitar lessons at the University of San Francisco and Lone Mountain College. This cd reflects my love of the music by The Beatles, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Michel Legrand, Carole King, Burt Bacharach and others. Each cut on the album was arranged by myself as 2 song medleys of tunes that seemed to fit nicely together. The recording was made using a 1976 Manuel Contreras classical guitar built in Madrid, Spain.
